Ok, I have a question for you guys if possible. I have been doing terrific since my surgery but lately I've been experiencing lower back pain. It has increased in pain and is now really making it difficult to sit or move from resting position. Is this normal after surgery? My neck is doing pretty well with minor pain at times but nothing like previously.

I'm not a cervical patient, so not sure. I wonder if maybe the pain was there all along; but the cervical pain was so bad you didn't notice the lumbar pain?
It could be that your body is readjusting itself after surgery. Plus it may be awhile since you have sat for so long?
My experience is that my SI ligaments started giving me a fair bit of pain after my successful fusion surgery at the bottom two lumbar levels. I thought it was the original surgery site, but my chiropractor explained that the ligaments were very tight since I was using them more than before.
A few sessions with gentle pressure on the offending areas did wonders. A good massage therapist or osteopath may be able to sort things out for you also. Make sure it is one you trust a great deal. Some can do more damage if they don't understand your situation. Mine does no 'normal' adjustments, just gentle pressure.
Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things. Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!
