Linda,
I appreciate your prayers. I believe that all the prayers and positive energy that are sent my way will help me through the surgery and the recovery.
A former employee of mine from at least a decade ago, found me on Facebook and wanted to be my friend (Gee, I must not have been such a bad boss). He wrote a beautiful prayer for me and my eyes filled up with tears as I read it. I have read it several times since then and will continue to read it throughout this process. I believe in prayers and positive energy ... so keep them coming folks!
I wondered why it was that I am not stressing about the surgery, until I read the following quote,"It is physically impossible to be stressed and thankful at the same time!" It made all the sense in the world to me. I am so grateful that I have an option ... a way out of this relentless, disabling pain ... that I am truly at peace and calm about it.
A person's body responds to the positive (or negative) environment around it. One of the reasons I choose Stenum (aside from the skill and experience of Dr. Ritter-Lang and his team) is because of their reputation for treating their patients like family. I read and heard from many former patients ... and every one of them said that very thing ... in fact, it was one of the first things they said. Now, having had several other surgeries before (not all back related), I know that how you are treated before, during and after the surgery has a profound affect on how well and how fast you recover. Bedside manner ... does matter!
I am very confident that I will be in excellent hands there. I am looking forward to meeting Dr. Ritter-Lang, Malte Petersen and their entire team!
Thanks for your prayers!
K
