Hello all. Just got home last night from a lamenectomy with L4, L5 and S1 fusion. I have not been in much pain or discomfort, so far. My wife was freaked out about the amount of blood when she changed my dressing this morning but I did not have any temp and my surgeon said this was normal. My main preop problem was foot numbness, and I stii have some but hopefully this will go away. My message for all of you facing similar surgery is go ahead and schedule it.
My name is Rich Deringer and I am a new member. I am in the process of scheduling spinal surgery--laminectomy with fusion of L4, L5, and possibly S1. I am 74 and have spinal stenosis with severe compression at the forementioned vertebra.
