Default Freedom Lumbar Disc Trial, Surgery Scheduled January 2011

Hi all. I have been living with chronic pain from a bad back for 13 years (since 1997). The disc bulged in 1997 after I carried a computer at work, and herniated in 2003 from bending forwards. This is all at L5-S1.
Years of physical therapy, acupuncture, injections, every med out there, pain is still there. I was accepted into the Freedom Disc Trial and will have an ADR end of Jan 2011.

Some of the Spine Patients that frequent our Forums have been in the Freedom Lumbar Artificial Disc Replacement Trial. If you do a search for "freedom lumbar disc," you should pull up many pertinent threads.

BTW, for other Spine Patients reading this thread, the Freedom Lumbar Artificial Disc Replacement Trial is still recruiting patients for the study. See this link: Freedom Lumbar Disc in the Treatment of Lumbar Degenerative Disc Disease (FLD)

Welcome to the forum. That's great to know you have a solution to your spine problems and will soon be on the other side of surgery. The Freedom discs looks very promising and the people I have heard of getting them were doing good. I initially was going to be in that clinical trial, but was disqualified since I had pending litigation concerning my spine. I ended up being in the Active L trial. Keep us posted and best of luck,
