Wishful runner, tomorrow is your big day. Hopefully, you are already in bed asleep by now. I know it's hard to get that rest the night before a big surgery. You will do fantastic! Can't wait to hear from you on the other side! God bless, Cindylou

Wishful- Not sure what time zone you are in, so you are either in surgery or about to be in surgery. I just said a prayer for you and your surgeon. Take it easy and rest up!

1/06- In wreck with 18 wheeler at 25 years old; 6/06- Head on collision on Interstate, both wrecks other drivers fault. Numerous MRI's, PT, chiropractic, acupuncture, TENS therapy, massage therapy, facet injections, epidural injections, Nerve study, Discogram, confirms pain in L4/5, IDET, decompression, Bi-lateral neurotomy L3/4/5, denied by insurance twice, in Active L clinical trial, had surgery March 17, 2009 in Miami, FL- received Active L disc at 29 years old. Pain and medication free as of October 2010!
Mommy to Emma- 8 years, Ava- 5.5 years & had baby Eli after ADR, via c-section on March 25, 2011, completely pain free still!
Sorry I didn't get on here sooner. I came home from hospital on Sunday but had been having trouble with nausea, cold sweat and dizziness while up walking so I couldn't stand at the keyboard. That is mostly gone now. Still having a little bit of fever in the 99.1 to 99.7 range but Tylenol keeps it from going any higher. Doing well otherwise.
It's too soon to tell if the surgery is a complete success but I have no reason to think it isn't at this point. I do feel less "broken in half" from the anterior approach as to the last one being from the back and the incision looks good. It's longer than I thought it would be. It's about six inches or so, from about one inch above belly button down to c-section line.
Only issues at the moment are a fairly large area on left thigh, from inner to front and high that is surface numb. Doc was a bit perplexed about that because the nerves that feed that area are higher in the back than where they were working so we'll have to keep an eye on that. Also, the left side of my abdomen is swollen. Not terribly so I'll keep watch and if it gets any worse I'll call the doc. Also have a distinct area of pain in right side of back, where I would think SI joint. But hopefully that will cease once all the inflammation is down.
Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers. I don't have a huge circle of friends and I have to admit it did my heart good and made me cry a little that people who don't even know me were thinking of me when I needed it. Thank you.![]()
