Glad to hear it Mike. Funny you've got a shoulder problem, I've gotta do a fair bit of work on stabilising mine too. Don't even notice these things with disabling friggen back pain.

It might be nice to look back on this in a year or so and say good bloody riddance to the lot of it and dont let the door hit you in the arse on the way out. This whole thing has really opened my eyes. Nothing like a crisis for people to show what they're really about and where their loyalties and interests lie.

I've got a few more hurdles to jump before getting back to full function, but I'll get there or close enough to it anyway.

    I won't be looking back.

I am about 10 months post op. I still have a lot of muscle spasms, but my function is greatly increased and improving slowly. I can do things which were impossible pre-op. It is a difficult and ongoing recovery from this sort of operation, but it was necessary. I do not suffer that disabling, terrible discogenic pain anymore.

I am not here for 'support' but I would like to offer a quick thankyou to one or two people on this site who were genuine in their well-wishes outside of the usual provincial political bs.

I'm glad that you are feeling better, even though not 100% yet. It took me 18 months to become completely pain free, so it can be a long haul, but it's so worth it.

It is so awesome to hear of more success stories I'm so glad that you can get on with your life once again.
Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!
