Default Hybrid Lumbar Surgery (L4/L5 Spinal Kinetics M6 & L5/S1 STALIF cage with BMP)

    Well I did it.

l4/l5 M6, l5/s1 stalif cage with BMP. 2 days ago. The surgeon (Boeree) said the op went well, no complications or blood loss.

Just has the epidural out then, so can feel my legs again. They'll get me out of bed and put the whip on tomorrow. I've sort of got that hit by a truck feeling, but pain control has been very good so far.

I'm glad I read peoples experiences pre-op as that soon after post-op stuff can be quite confronting.

I suppose this is a pretty crucial 3 months, so will be going steady steady.

    Chris.

Btw, for those who follow the cricket, I'm really in the wrong country right now!

Oh, I have been thinking of you Chris! Finally, you are on the other side. Congrats! Sounds like surgery went well, all things considered. Wonderful news. You take it easy and I know you will follow your surgeon's instructions to the T. I look forward to seeing your post-surgery comments from here on out. My best to you Chris, Cindylou (((((hugs)))))

    Chris

So happy for you that you're now on the other side! Take it slow, as you said it's a long haul from here. Be easy on yourself, especially at first. Best to you.

    Thanks for the kind replies.

I got out of the bed and walked around a bit today, my Mum sort of asked me, 'does your back still hurt'? lol, oh dear. Well at least she cares. It's pretty clear that it takes a spiney to understand a spiney. Guess I'm a spiney now..

In a couple of days the poking and prodding should stop and can go chill at the hotel.

    Hi Chris,

Congratulations. It's good to hear that everything went well & you're now in rehab mode. I agree it takes a "spiney" to understand a "spiney". My relatives are just the same. "Normal" people just don't get it. Hope you're hotel is comfortable when you go back there.

Take care & go real steady .
