Default Just Underwent PLDD in NYC

Greetings and good wishes to all members of this wonderful online community!

After suffering lower back pain for twenty years, subsequently diagnosed as a herniated disc condition, just last week I underwent a PLDD (Percutaneous Laser Disc Decompression) procedure with Dr. Daniel S.J. Choy in New York City, on my two lowest lumbar discs.

After I have recuperated, I will share my experience in detail with the community. At this time, I am resting quietly, following doctor's instructions for applying cold and heat to the inflammed area, walking one mile a day and so on.

In the meantime, I look forward to exploring the collective information here and learning from others.

A special thanks to Justin, the founder, for making this forum and community available.

DKB, welcome to the SPS family. I'm so glad you found us. Can't believe you are able to walk a mile already, but good for you if those are Dr.'s orders. Sounds like you are resting and icing per instruction which is all good. Continue to listen to your body and as we say, "slow and steady wins the race."

DKB, I am very glad that you joined us and shared your story.

You had luck to meet and to be operated by one of the world leaders in spinal neurosurgery, especially laser neurosurgery. I hope you will keep recovering and very soon be pain free.

    p.s.
Recently one patient came to Croatia for two-level PLDD for discogenic low-back pain. He saw dr. Choy few months ago, but it was difficult for him to travel to USA again. So, he was operated by dr. Robert Saftic here in Croatia and is pain free (hopefully it will last).

hope you recover well, take it steady. do a little less than you feel capable of and then you won't overdo it.

Hi, it has been some time from your PLDD, how did you recuperate and could you share your experiences.I just finished 2 MISS, PLDD and HidroPDD and terrified of posture outcome. Thanks in advance
Hi, I am glad this site exists. Just had two interventions: LaserDiscDecompression at L5S1 and HidroDiscDecompression at L4L5. Hope to learn on experiences living after surgery, even so-called minimally invasive.
