    Hi Cindylou,
I'm embarrased that I look a bit big there I was trying to get every word by my surgeon and was also nervous that it was recorded. It was much longer but shortened to post.

    Hi Dave,
では、また( Dewa Mata ) is perfect here. and Matane ! can be used as well.
I enjoy watching your avatar everytime you change it.

Well done on the walking, just be careful to slowly increase times/distance so you don't overdo it. It will be lovely being able to walk and take in the blossom.

    Hi Alison

thanks I'm thinking about cycling a little bit again with small velo ( 20 inch tire ), would you tell me when you started bicycling again post-op ?
I'm considering getting Minoura roller for my bike. It looks stable and safer

KenG, I had my 3 lumbar disc surgery with Dr. B in April of 07, and by July....so 12 weeks later, I was taking small country rides on my bicycle up in cabin country. I cannot wait to start doing some rides this spring as well. I soooo need to exercise and lose weight. Good luck and take it slow.

If you have access to a gym with a recumbant bike (one with a full seat that is lower down) that is a really good way to start as your spine is fully supported. A turbo trainer can be used if you are able to add something to support you on and off it and you do not use low down handle bars at first but its not the ideal way to start off training.

You will be ready to use a fairly upright bike once you have some good core muscles strength. Are you doing core strengthening yet?

I starting biking outside when the weather turned nice a year after my op but nothing extreme and on a full suspension bike so I was nicely cushioned. I even added a suspension seat post to it! It took a while longer to be able to drop onto a road cycling bike and I had this individually adjusted for my new body geometry.

    Hi Cindylou, Alison.

Both of your story tell me it depends on one's symptoms. It may take a little more for me to bike around.
btw, i have runny nose because of pollen in air these days. Spring has come.

    Ken,

I'm glad to hear that you are doing so well. I can't believe you are two months post-op.

    Hi Justin

I tried my small bicycle today for the first time post-op but found out it was a bit early
The posture and vibration wasn't good for my trunk. again, I decided to go slow

Would you tell me from what kind of exercise you started for core strengthening ? simple crunch for abs ?
My incision is quite low because it's L5/S1.

It is a long way to go.
