Congratulations!!!! It is so good to hear from you, especially such good news. You are a real inspiration for me.
Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

Great news to hear you are doing well!
Congrats on making it through the big day and you are now on the other side.

The pain medication stuff in the drip is really really good, isnt it
Its better then morphine and something that is not approved in the USA. They have a sheet that shows the different meds they use and what they translate to in other countries. In any case its strong stuff and works good.

I hope you are now off of that drip and with low pain, I hope. Is it still snowing there?

Hi everyone. thanks for all your posts ! It is good to know someone is watching how I'm doing here in germany. it started snowing a lot from morning. it will be a lot. I worry when I would be discharged. its slippery.
I don't have much low back pain. I have new pain but I think it's muscle pull. its scary everytime I sneeze.
when my left buttock is cold, the symptom comes back a little like pre-surgery state.
but I expect ups and downs, it's day 3 after surgery.
while lying down, I have no incision pain. it's getting itchy. when I try to lie down without lumbar belt, it hurts. but I believe Dr. B did fantastic work.
the drips are gone, took first shower this moring. the bogen hospital is quite nice, I'm watching CNN on wall, the Haiti situation. when I'm in restroom or somewhere without lumbar brace, I don't feel any limit of movement, that I think a great thing.
I became the first Japanese who had this prothesis to lumbar spine, which I'm a bit proud of. ( I might be the second or third, I don't know)
Trauma at 20 y/o left buttock, thigh, LBP eversince.
confirmed DDD retro spondylolisthesis L5/S1, offered fusion,
    had discectomy successful.

    Hi everyone
tomorrow, I will be discharged. back to hotel of 10 min. walk. it was 6 night stay and about 49 euro per night with 3 meals. I stayed in 2 bedroom with a german gentleman. He had 3 level cervical and doing quite good. From tomorrow, it's 30 euro with breakfast and wifi in hotel. There is a good chinese restaurant ( owner family is korean. they did understand my bad korean greetings )on main street and about 3 italian. I'm looking forward to get there.

I got stitches out today. No incision pain and clean. Saw my adr positioning with x-ray first time. it is great. my retro slippage is realigened quite a bit. I feel no limitation with movement. like Justin wrote to me, I came to the other side before I know it

I was offered by dr. B today to help to put info in Japanese in Pro Spine web site. it is a huge responsibility cause I must be accurate but I am a bit proud to hear that cause I'm the very first and have been through all alone.

now it is about time and care. if something happens, I ask Pro Spine first.
I have no doubt Dr. B is one of the finest surgeon and also Pro Spine staff members are all great and it is managed wonderfully.

I met a lady from Utah a few days ago and she had her 3rd adr in her cervical. She had charite in l5s1, had Prodisc in cervical before and Prodisc Nova this time. she made a day before my surgey and she looked surprisingly fine after we both made it. I thought one who had 3rd adr look
fatigued or tired, but she didn't look at all. I told her to come to Justin's messageboard, so she might come around sometime.

KenG, what a great post! I am so glad you are coming along so nicely and you made it to the other side! Yay! And what an honor that Dr. B. asked of you. You will do fine with that request. I am exceptionally impressed that you took the leap and are there by yourself physically. Just remember we are here for you emotionally. Keep us updated with your recovery. How long will you stay there to recover did you say?
