Ken, I am so proud of you...going forward with so little support. That is not easy. Try and build a circle of friends over there during and after surgery. After all, no one understands what you are going through more than them. (And some of us, of course) I hope to be joining you on the other side soon. In the meantime, keep the faith, stay positive and keep posting!
Hugs and prayers to you.
Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things. Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!
Good luck Ken. It has been a long road for you but now your time is here. See you soon on the "other side".

Hi everyone.
its second day after surgery. I am in bed. next to me is a german gentleman.
I am in a cheaper two bedroom.
my surgery went well. and post surgery pain is not much, much less than I expected. they gave me a lot of pain killer drop, which i don't know what it is.
kept vomiting a lotbut now feeling o.k.
I have a lot to type, but just reporting now that it went well.
I am confident I did best to my spine problem.![]()
