    I met one American lady who went surgery today. I don't even know her name yet but we will be in rehab together probably.

    sorry I was off a bit. bit scary and having some trouble with wifi lately.

    Trauma at 20 y/o left buttock, thigh, LBP eversince.
    confirmed DDD retro spondylolisthesis L5/S1, offered fusion,
    had discectomy successful.

    Ken, I am so proud of you...going forward with so little support. That is not easy. Try and build a circle of friends over there during and after surgery. After all, no one understands what you are going through more than them. (And some of us, of course Click here to enlarge) I hope to be joining you on the other side soon. In the meantime, keep the faith, stay positive and keep posting!

    Hugs and prayers to you.
    Moderate compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6
    Moderate & severe herniation and compression at L3/4 to L5/S1
    Hybrid surgery (fusion & ADR) of all above levels postponed because of severe allergy to most metals used in hardware.
    Update Jan/2010: Dr. Pimenta (Brazil) offering surgery: ceramic & poly cervical ADR plus PEEK fusion of lumbar levels.

    C3/4 C4/5 C5/6 C6/7
    Surgery 06.04.08--C5/6 and C6/7 w/Prodisc
    C4/5 deterioration progressing quickly
    MRI on lumbar shows disc herniation at L5/S1, stenosis at L3/4, L4/5, spondylosis and DDD at L2 through S1 in July, 2009
    Nerve Root Injections on Aug 6th, 2009 - L5/S1
    Nerve Root Injections on L3/4, L4/5 and L5/S1 on 12.14.09
    Epidural on Jan 6th, 2010.
    Epidural and L5-S1 Nerve root block on Feb. 9th, 2010.

    I am watching this space for your updates. The hospital does have internet and I hope they have you connected!

    Nov 07: Fusion (Stalif) S1/L5, ADR L4/5 (Activ-L)for strong back and leg pain (Zeegers, Germany).
    Nov 09: 2 level cervical ADR Prodisc-C (Nova) C4/5/6 to stop progression of cervical myleopathy. (Bertagnoli, Germany).

    its second day after surgery. I am in bed. next to me is a german gentleman.
    I am in a cheaper two bedroom.

    my surgery went well. and post surgery pain is not much, much less than I expected. they gave me a lot of pain killer drop, which i don't know what it is.
