OK I'm hving a L4,5 Transfacet Decompression,TLIF ,ILIF. I'm not sure what the ILIF means also he said he was going to use plate not screw and rods what do you guys thanks about that, Witch do you think is better not finding a lot of pros and cons info on it thanks

Probably because no one knows the answer to the question! I've had a PLIF so can only comment on personal experience of that. Hope you can find some info somewhere.

2009 May 2nd Op Failed revision fusion on L5/S1 with Charite ADR in situ
2008 Caudal epidural exacerbated nerve symptoms. Prolapse L2/L3
2007 L5/S1 Facet deterioration
2002 March 1st Op ADR Charite - L4/5, L5/S1
2000 Disc prolapses L4/5, L5/S1
I don't have a clue, which is why I didn't comment either. Sorry, I'm not any help. Look in the video and educational resources on the forum and there may be more there.
31 years old- 1/06- In wreck with 18 wheeler at 25 years old; 6/06- Head on collision on Interstate, both wrecks other drivers fault. Numerous MRI's, PT, chiropractic, acupuncture, TENS therapy, massage therapy, facet injections, epidural injections, Nerve study, Discogram, confirms pain in L4/5, IDET, decompression, Bi-lateral neurotomy L3/4/5, denied by insurance twice, in Active L clinical trial, had surgery March 17, 2009 in Miami, FL- received Active L disc at 29 years old. Pain and medication free as of October 2010!Mommy to Emma- 8 years, Ava- 6 years & had baby Eli after ADR, via c-section on March 25, 2011, completely pain free still!
I hade a discectome in 2005 at myL3,L4,L5 I just wanted to fill wanted LOL thanks for responding how was a fusion herd that its pretty painfull.

I've never had a fusion so can't speak on that; but any spine surgery should be taken seriously. Some do really great with pain control after surgery and others (me) do horrid. I literally prayed for death for 2 days after from the pain. It's not super common in the US for them to give you an epidural for after surgery pain, but I would ask/ demand one. It seems the people with them do so much better than those of us without them (though that's not all of us). Best of luck

the actual op was alot easier than my previous 2 level ADR. I had really effective pain relief (fentanyl). the recovery is very long and tedious with it's no bending, lifting or twisting.
