Scott - thanks for the 1 year update. It looks like you've gone through a lot but with a very good outcome. Congrats. I'm 47 and possibly facing that same fate as you, so I appreciate the description and timeline.

Hello everyone!
I have not been here in more than half a year, but since today is the one year anniversary of my Spinal Fusion, I thought I would check in.
Life is mostly back to normal for me. I still do not do any heavy lifting, but 40-50 pounds is OK. My pain is mostly gone. I still have some pain in my hip (moderate osteoarthritis) and I still have a slight tingling in my right leg and foot. Once or twice a month, I take a naproxen for it. I just helped my mom assemble several new pieces of furniture for her new apartment. I raked leaves this fall. I can beat my son at ping pong and toss a football with him. I went to Disney World and rode all of the rides without any problem. I can get on the floor and play with my 2 boxers. I am very thankful for all of that.
I know that when I struggled with the decision to have back surgery, I was really looking to find people that were success stories to help give me the courage to take that leap of faith. Just wanted to share with everyone that I am 100% thrilled with the results of my surgery.
