Spoke to the doc again today. Shot didn't help but the nerve root went numb, so we finally know we're at the right level. Will be scheduling surgery ASAP. My fondest wish is to get it done before the new year, so send out lots of good vibes for me, please! He's going to do a foraminotomy at L5-S1 and also remove the left side screw. He can see a small bulge at the level and it's possible the screw is interfering. I'll keep you posted as to when I'm going in. It'll be an outpatient procedure. Thanks.

Multiple spinal surgeries (10) beginning in 1982. Fusion L4-5 (1992), Dyneses rods after stenosis surgery L3-5 (2006). Fusion C6-7 (1993) and C5-6 (1999), Foraminotomy C4-5 (2008). Current problem L5-S1. MRI doesn't see anything, but the pain is consisitent to L5-S1.
Good luck man.
Finally got a surgical date! Why do these things take so long? January 31 at 60am. Wow, bright and early, but would rather that than later in the day. Will keep you posted on my progress. It's not nearly as sexy as many others, but I hope it works!
Missy
Well it's not sexy because there's no acronym. Minimally invasive FMT, add 'laser' or 'next-generation technology' and away you go.
Hope it all goes well.
