You need to ask for a new assessment from Access to Work as your condition has changed recently, they should fill out the paperwork for you if it is difficult to do. Access to work can pay for work related items. it sounds like your return to work plan might need to be altered so you need to contact occupational health to organise this. until all the support is in place you are recommended by Access to Work has suggested you cannot be expected to be at the workplace as it will exacerbate your condition.

You can request for your work role to be changed to what you can do, if that is work 3 days then there is NOTHING your head can do as you are protected by legislation. I used to work some of my role from home laid down to enable me to keep my job and had support paid for by access to work for the bits i couldn't do.

you need to apply for DLA, the form is very simple to do and they can help with anything you can't fill in or give me a shout, i've done it lots of times. you should definitely do this. they are currently one of the more cooperative benefits departments.

if you can't work then you will go onto SSP when your workers sick pay runs out. you will then be terminated (early retirement through ill health or dismissed under competancy rules) you will then apply for ESA (incapacity benefit only exist for old claimants now). This is a very difficult benefit to navigate through and i would suggest using CAB or a benefits advise worker to get what you are entitled to.

We only manage as my lovely hubby works and takes care of me so i don't have to pay for carers or money would be very tight. i have a tiny pension from my old job but i have had to pay for adaptations out of my own pocket as we have an income. your local council is obliged to help pay for changes to the house if no one is working.

do let me know if you have any questions.

Hi, thanks for your prompt reply, Oc health said they were only an advisary body and my head can totally ignore them if she wants -thats what she did last time. I really only need the motability part of the DLA as I cant walk any distance, certainly not far enough to get to work and buses are a no no. I am half way thru the form at the moment so we shall see. It's .tricky because I have good days and bad days, my boss wants me there all the time as=nd some sort of guarrentee that I will be but some days I cant even move. Should I tell people this i.e my head or occ health or just leave it as a nice surprise?
Thanks for your help, you are a star

Occy health work for your employer so will say anything to get you to work more if you let them. They can be discrimatory just the same as the head. Ring access to work for advice. They are independent.
