Hey all,
Just found this forum and look forward to hearing about everyones post OP progress. I also would like to offer any advice or share my pain free progress. I had a Lumbar Artificial Disc replacement (Charite) at L4/L5 and an anterior fusion at L5/S1 about 4 years ago. They call that the Hybrid... Prior to that I had a Laminectomy at the L4/L5 level around 10 years ago. The Laminectomy worked but I was young and didnt stop the heavy lifting. Now I am doing well but have some other areas in my upper back that are causing some pain. Still take no MEDs though!
Regards,
Pat

Hi Pat,
I've recently heard about this "hybrid" theory when L5/S1 is fused and L4-L5 ADR. One surgeon from Croatia told me it really makes sense and decreases chance of spine deformation looking long term. You are possibly one good and positive example of this theory.
Welcome.

To; Pat the back, WELCOME
There are quite a few of us that are having spine surgery in the next two months. You really came to the right place.
Someone suggested to another new member that you should go to Spine Universe to find a doctor. Read all the threads so you know what is going on and where to go to find help. You will find it on here. Good luck. Camren
