Great news Bob! So glad it all went well! I look forward to hearing how you are healing. We will be healing together, as I will be having my fusion on Monday! Of course you had more levels than I will. Mine is only a single level.

Hope to hear more from you before I head off to the hospital!

Well past couple of days have gone bad pain level wise and the interaction and intelligence level of my nurses has been a huge factor in that. Im sorry to any nurses who are out there that may get offended by my comments as usually I have had some very good nurses buy only a few this time and it makes a huge difference!!! Still on Ice chips and I think I finally get clear liquids starting today. Of course my surgeon is out of town but all is still going well.Walked too far yesterday and had had it by time I got back to bed. Well let me look over some postsbans see what everyone has to say. Again thanks for thr support.
Work Injury 2001 back never the same after but have had several more injuries at work.
Conservative treatments till 2009. Several ESI's ,Physical therapies,TENS unit, Etc...
    DDD L3-4 L4-5 L5-S1
2009 bilateral decompression on 2 levels
2-2010 Lumbar Laminectomy at 2 levels
5-2010 MRI shows herniation or fragment again.
Pain in back and legs ongoing just had Caudal Block 5-2010
They want to do 3 level fusion but unsure if thats best. Any responses appreciated!!!

Bob, Sorry your pain hasn't been controlled well. Seems to be an all to common problem with spine surgery. I know part of it is they worry you will stop breathing- which when I was in that pain, I honestly didn't care if I stopped breathing! I was thinking, "Hook me up to some oxygen, drug me and hope I sleep until it doesn't hurt anymore." I know that's not really feasible, but sounded like a good idea at the time It only gets better from here, each day gets a little better than the last.

It's always a great sign when Spine Patients are posting and checking the Spine Patient Society shortly after surgery!

    Here's to a smooth recovery.

    Bob,
I am so sorry to hear how bad this has been for you! Do you have someone that is up in the hospital with you? This is exactly what I have been afraid of. I have lined up a couple of friends to be with me as I come out of surgery to be sure that I don't have to deal with those kind of nurses a lone.

I'm sorry you are dealing with this. I hope things go smoother for you the next couple of days!
