Too cute you guys! Kids are always so curious about where babies come from, and I always found the "honest, sex ed answer" for the curious 5, 6 or 7 year old just too much information for their innocent minds to handle. Baby steps to sex education was always my motto, no pun intended. But you'll rise to the barrage of questions Kathy from your adorable little girls, cuz this is your 3rd! I am soooo happy for you!! I never felt like I was done after my 2 kids, and even though my 3rd arrived when the other boys were 7 and 9, he couldn't have brought more happiness and joy to our family! Babies rock!

Sometimes, you do not want to give them too much information.
Even my teenagers, say, "Mom, that is TMI (too much information).
So sometimes the little ones are just looking for one answer, simple, and we load them up with a bunch.
The other day, I was trying to remember If /when i had given the "Talk" to my boys.
My girls, were like, he will ask you when he needs to.
Do not load him up with too much information, he doesn't even like girls yet.
    LOL.
The younger boys are still asking the cute questions. It never gets boring around here. But the kids fight a lot.
Never knew, Legos were such prime real estate and backagon. I had to mark the toys with one initial to signify it was the little one's so the older boy did not steal it away.

We are still at the 'baby is made from half of mommy's heart and half of daddy's heart' stage.

Fighting??? Surely not! My kids beat each other all day it seems like. Some times I feel like telling them, fight till death, may the best child win! LOL They will be best of friends playing one minute, beating each other the next and then back to best buddies; they have a bi-polar relationship!

    LOL.
Kathy, I guess your kids are just the same as mine.
My oldest daughter just dumped my youngest in his bed because he "was not behaving". So he is now klinging on me and crying. And she threw his Pjs on my bed and said, here take care of it.
I told her as she was leaving that I was not doing so, as I am in severe pain today. but she did not listen. So it goes. Actually now he is able to put his PJs on himself.
    Update:

Let's see, 1) I have an annular tear (not full thickness) at L5/S1. No whatever charlie. 2) I have sciatica and radiculopathy evidenced by abnormal EMG. Oh and it is in both legs and concentrated in my feet.

So what I thought was wrong with me is definitely wrong with me.
Without getting into too much info/issues, one doc says that abnormal EMG with near constant/constant radiculopathies means that I have something directly pressing on my nerves at L5/S1, so I need a posterior fusion. (I did get him to consider the below).
Other doc says I could have a chemical radiculopathy.
Now we are talkin confusing words.
Means my disc may be leaking some on my nerve roots.
My surgeon looked at my stuff (new tests, actual films), but I don't know yet if that means anything.
I feel the tests showed what I already knew. My back and legs hurt.
Could not sleep much last night because Friday, I walked a bit too much and sat a bit too much.
I was watching part of Forrest Gump, the movie, last night.
I love it: Life is a lot like a box of chocolates.
I love chocolates, by the way.

Just a warning. Do not let them put you off too long on this. We waited too long on my L5/S1 and now I have permanent nerve damage. My pain goes down my leg to my calf and now goes down my other leg to my knee. And the back pain is all across my back. The pain has increased in intensity with time. My doctor couldn't believe I had pain on my right side because the leak was on the left. He kept asking over and over again.

Some times l just want to hit them up side the head and ask them, "Are you being like one of my kids that just pretends not to hear me because you don't like my answer, or are you just playing stupid?"

Yeah, I know. I am kind of worried about that along with all my other worries.
    I am a great worrier.
Remember Susanna, maybe you don't have permanent damage. Let's hope so. With my surgery in 2008, I had leg pain (not as bad as this leg pain, but pretty bad) and it went away after surgery.
    Let's hope.
You just have to live with what you have sometimes, and other times things are miraculous.
I have had a similar situation, as my "leak" or tear is on right side. Symptoms are right and left, back and leg.
    YUp.
But thanks for the advice. I have asked if things might be permanent and all they can tell me is hopefully not.

Oh, my hubby came in and picked up my sleeping pup and took care of him. Now, they are all in bed and I have to go to bed too.
I always tell my kids what my mom used to say to me before bed: Sweet dreams and don't let the bedbugs bite.

    R,
They discovered it was permanent nerve damage by doing a couple things. 1. My leg became numb. 2. They did a nerve test EEG. Showed that "things aren't good", as they say. I also have peripheral neuropathy. But this pain is different. It started from the top of my but down. The PN goes from the toes up. So basically my whole right leg is numb now. So we will see. I will just be glad to get rid of the burning, lava pain! The numbness I can live with. I just don't want more pain or constant pain the rest of my life. I have told my P.T. that if I get stabbing or burning pain in my feet, I will have them cut them off! I can't live with that.

Off I go to bed! Love you all!
    Susanna

Runagain, my Mom used to say the same to us kids before bed, sweet dreams and don't let the bedbugs bite. I LOVE that expression.

I tell my kids that and my 4 year old says, "I have my bed bug medicine on" This is the pretend, invisible medicine that does not allow the bed bugs to bite you. LOL

    Yes,

    Kathy and Cindylou,

I got the saying from my mother, who would tell me it and then I have passed it onto my children.
