Default Lumbar Laminectomy L2- L5 on Feb 24th

Hello all, I am a 60 yr old male and live in Gig Harbor WA. I have been diagnosed with spinal stenosis with claudification. I am going to have a lumbar laminectomy L2- L5 on Feb 24th at Virginia Mason in Seattle. While I am not looking forward to the surgery and recovery, I hope this brings me some relief. I have been active my entire life, skiing water and snow, kayaking, running, even summited Mt Rainier twice. However the last several years have been bad for me in terms of pain and loss of mobility to the point where I didn't even think of skiing this year. It was heartening to come across this forum and see that there are lots of people that have had good results from this surgery and I would like to hear from some of you about your experiences. It's hard to feel like this all of the time. The surgeon is not going to fuse my spine as part of this surgery.

    Best
    Dan
