Hi all,
Just thought I'd share this. About 2 weeks ago, I was sure that something came undone 6 months post my 4 level laminectomy. I could barely walk again. It was so bad I convinced them to let me get an mri to see what was happening. While the surgeon believed it was muscular, it seems it may have been viral. About a week ago, I started coming down with a really bad sore throat. The day my throat started hurting, my back felt somewhat better. Now about 9 days later, I've still feel crappy from the remnants of a sore throat(viral per the doc) and upper respiratory infection, but my back is almost perfect!
I'm not sure it's connected but it sure is coincidental. Has this ever happened to anyone?![]()

No, Natalie, but I'm sure glad that things are clearing up. Isn't it awful when we really believe that everything is or could be connected to our back...and in my experience often isHang in there and I hope everything just quietly goes away and stays away. Let us know what the MRI says...
Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things. Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

Hi KBear,
You just met another type A. (I bet not to anyone's surprise) I usually always have to be doing something productive. I have always had more that one job probably my whole life. I will be having two operations. One is an XLIF, and the other is a lumbar laminectomy posterior. This would be funny if I wasn't so scared and that I know I will be having more pain than I want to deal with. I have a lot of pain now before the surgeries. It must be done. Carmen![]()
