Being that I have just been released from the hospital, I am shocked that they even sent you home. My doctor was good with me staying another day if I felt I wasn't ready to go home yet. It gets me all red under the collar when I hear of patients going home 1) before their pain is under control 2) when they are still having any kind of health issues, whether related directly to the surgery or directly unrelated to the surgery. For instance, I ended up with an impacted bowl and was not going home until we had that taken care of. True, they could have sent me home with "idea's" of what to do, but an impacted bowl can become a serious issue! And Can be re-current because of pain meds. So I was not going home until I knew it was taken care of. So to send you home without your pain level being taken care of, really upsets me. Not only did they not do it while you were in the hospital, but left you without the possibility to do it once you left! So in this case, the problem was not just the insurance company, but the hospital.
I find it absolutely crazy, impossible that you are posting. I wanted to be on my computer, but did not have the energy. I barely had the energy to text anyone, much less string sentences together to blog on the computer. And to do it without pain meds? No way. So If you are able to do all that, maybe you should try doing what I am doing, going without the pain meds and see how you do. The pain meds made me very loopy and sleepy. I couldn't focus on anything. I may have some pain off of them, but nothing I can't tolerate.
What was your surgery and did you have it in the US or abroad?
