    Cyndy,

You beat me when it comes to number of icepacks.
I happen to use (and I do not work for them) Chattanooga, Tenn Cold Paks and they are awesome. Got a smaller one, which I can slip into a freezer bag as the cold paks sometimes leave ice crystals all over. And a bigger one that is for the bigger jobs. Like I put that one in my car and sit on it.
I have had them for approx. 2 + years and they form to my body. Got them from my PT ($20-$30) but I am sure you can google them. They are my lifesavers.

Went and googled and found this site that sells them: ColPaC Cold Packs - ColPaC - 11 x 14" - Allegro Medical Supplies. However, make sure you are able to get the large one (about the length of a container of eggs, scratch that, about a carton and a half) as it covers a lot. But remember cold packs should not be placed on bare skin and should be left on for 20 minutes and then off for 20 minutes and so forth.

Just curious, Do any of you have the ice packs that look like they have a sand/water mix in them? I have a really large one that is in a covering that has straps on it, so you can literally strap it on your back and walk around or whatever. It i really nice b/c it shapes to my back easily, is comfortable to lay on and stays cold for awhile (also no leaking or condensation b/c of what is in it). I will have to look up the name of it.

Kathy, can't say I have seen the type of ice pack you are describing. Take a picture of it! (you're good at that). I did order about a week ago, still waiting for it to arrive, a type of ice pack that wraps all the way around your back. Kinda sounds like what you are describing. Can't remember the name of it, but I will post it after it arrives. Runagain, yes I have a fairly good size one that I can sit on as well when driving. And no, I don't put them right next to my skin, altho I have in the past when pain was severe and I was desperate to "freeze the pain away." Of course, all I got instead was freezer burn! Ouch.

That's interesting about the ice packs. I tried one for my boyfriend and he seemed to find it comforting. I bought 3 more of them and it seems that a fresh ice pack is always welcome. I bought him a new leather executive office chair and that is where he is pretty much most of the day. If there is anything else I can do to help his pain, please let me know.

Sorry I have not had time to respond to all of your replies but I do appreciate the warm welcome, you all are a great group !! I also want to apologize for the tone of my first post, I am usually more upbeat about things but have had a couple of rough weeks. I would like to get more involved with the forums when time allows. Thanks again and everyone take care. Brent
