    Terry,

Glad to see you are so active. Have you looked into regenerative medicine such as PRP injections. It is all over the internet. I tried it for my SI and it helped.

    Hi Rob,

Could you send me an email or PM please?
Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

    Hey Rob,

It's great that you are feeling better. Hopefully, the numbness will subside with time. When/where did you go for your platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections?

I have had PRP in Akron and in Chicago. Most pain management doctors are suing PRP now.

    6 month piriformis surgery update
The piriformis surgery that completely removed the muscle has been somewhat successful. It rid me of most of the terrible cramping and pain. However, I have numbness in my butt and all the way down the back of my thigh that was not there before surgery. I also have a lot ot tightness in my butt and leg still though better that before.

    Hey Rob,

It's great to hear that the cramping and pain you had before surgery is gone for the most part. Hopefully, the numbness will continue to improve with time.

    Hi Rob,
Sounds like you have improvement but there is a bit of a downside to this. I may follow in your footsteps, since my third Botox shot did not do much. I guess I am a bit scared to take the plunge so I am following you closely. I hope your numbness goes away. Keep posting.

    Rob,
I have a fused spine and a fused rt. SI joint. I am having pudendal nerve symptoms, such as not being able to sit because of pain. A PT told me the piriformis can be doing that because it is too short. Did you have pain in the sit bone when you sat down? Thanks, paulette

I just read another of your posts. I also have numbness in the butt and down the back of the thigh. But you said you did not have that before the surgery???

    Paulette,

Can you pm me and we can exchange phone numbers so we can discuss in detail. FYI - my current condition is that I have a lot of SI joint dysfunction but no more piriformis pain or leg cramping. The SI joint pain was there before I had the piriformis removed but not sure if it has been aggravated by the piriformis removal. I have literally tried everything for the SI except the Microspine or Bonati procedures. The numbness from the piriformis surgery is merely a nuisance - really a non issue.
