Sheering keels off would be highly precarious but I do wonder if it's possible to perhaps leave the end plates of a Charite' and remove the core, then fuse.

Sounds like a job for a car mechanic. Going to be interesting to see what revision options are going to be dreamt up, too late for me though, I just want to prevent further damage.

So pleased that things are going in the right direction . Hope you carry on fusing steadily throughout your recovery. When I was fused I didn't show any signs at your stage but did fuse by the end of the 2 year recovery period. Keep thinking positive thoughts & taking in plenty of calcium .

i've heard of them but have had neither internal nor external ones suggested to me. The main problem i seem to have had is getting everything to stay still enough for bone formation to happen.

I'm enjoying the lessening of restrictions, three months doing very little is such a long time. I'm very weak but am hoping to be up to doing some work in the pool after all the festivities are over.

Thanks for the support guys, it means alot, its such a long haul.

Taking your own advice on a slower healing process looks as thought it's working. Never underestimate the healing process of a tropical beach with someone waiting on you hand and foot......

I hope 2012 sees a complete success for your healing.
