Default Regenexx injection for SI joint dysfunction after ADR surgery, decompression surgery, piriformis surgery

I have had 2 ADR's from Stenum and ended up with a lot of other issues. Needed posterior decompressions of L5 and S1 nerves. Then needed piriformis muscle removed. Now I have horrible SI joint pain. I just had a Regenexx injection into the SI joint. I was told to take it easy for a day or so and then start walking or stationary biking. I was told that the worse thing for the stem cells is NO movoment. They need motion. Any thoughts on this? Thanks

This sounds plausable to me as bone cells (osteoblasts) need constant forces placed upon them, ie walking and movement in order for the renewal of new cells. Stem cells need to mimic their environment for them to differentiate into a particular cell type. Based on this I would have thought that no movement could cause problems within the differentation process. Just my theory though.

Good luck and hope all goes well my friend

    Ryan,

Thanks for your knowledge re stem cells and the constant forces required to train the stem cells. I was told that with no movement or force the stem cells would die just as you imply.

I will be anxious to hear your progress as I'm sure many others will. Stem cell therapy certainly sounds like it has the most possibility with the least side effects. Sounds like you've gone through enough. The Regenexx page list of good candidates lists exercise and activity as making a candidate a good one for stem cell therapy.
    Good Luck.

I really hope this works for you....
C4-5: Mild disc height loss with central annular fissure. Small broad-based left paracentral disc protrusion. Moderate central canal stenosis-the disc protrusion abuts and mildly flattens the left ventral surface of the spinal canal.

C5-6: Disc desiccation with mild height loss.Diffuse discosteophyte bulge and uncovertebral joint hypertrophy, moderate central canal stenosis- Severe neuroforaminal stenosis bilaterally, right greater than left
