I put a post up a short while ago but it seems to have vamooshed.

That's great news with the early fusion signs . I wasn't a revision but when I was fused I wasn't showing anything at your stage but by the 2 year discharge I was fused. Keep thinking positive fusion thoughts & downing plenty of calcium.

My first full physio session did a lot of good, i felt the most comfortable i have for months. The muscle i pulled (an oblique according to the physio) feels all better so really looking forward to next session tomorrow as my abodomen is less tender.. Even a few hours feeling better following the massage is good and means I can do my physio so much easier.

The podiatrist has referred me to the appliance department for a support for my left foot to help with the foot drop on that side. Not sure how long I long will have to wait for this appointment though.

The thing that has cheered me up most is that the physio (a very experience muscoskeletal practitioner) says that the fusion is in really good aligment with good lordosis

    Alison,

Congratulations! It's great to read that you are feeling so well. In regard to the foot drop, have they suggested anything like the Bioness (Bioness Foot Drop System)? Good luck with your appointment and please keep us posted.

Once again, I'm so happy for you Alison--you deserve to feel good!

That looks amazing, I've just been recommended a splint/support for when I try to walk. If its the usual NHS then I could be waiting a while for an appointment.

    Default 6 months post op

At my six month milestone so thought it was time for an update. I have occasional moments of comfort which are very welcome. I'm physically probably fairly similar to how i was before the op so just got to hope that what has been done helps me stay like this or improve a little. I still get some very odd sensations in the backs of my knees, left calf and left foot. This is very reassuring cos i'm hoping it means stuff is going on.

I go next week for the foot lift/splint/support to be fitted. I got a cancellation appointment through which is really good as i would have had to wait until mid april otherwise. I have new walking sticks which are much more comfortable to use. My husband has been learning to do the massage to break down the scar tissue (there is a noticeable bulge on the left hand side) and to do the sciatic nerve stretches to improve the blood supply to the damaged areas.

My next set of x-rays is in April so i'll update with the bone growth update (which i'm praying there will be) then.

I hope those are positive signs too. I hope the next few months pass with more defined progress.
