I HEAR YOU!
OK, so, I have had a sit down talk with my kids. They understand the consequences of what happens if I continue doing what I have.
And I am praying I haven't already hurt something permanently! My son's solution is that I go into my bedroom and not come out. (not going to happen!) My daughters solution is that I just let her get to it when she gets to it. (nope, my house, my rules!) So, the deal is, you don't want me to die, you do your jobs! I am not going to hurt myself because you guys aren't living up to your responsibilities.
I have been a great mom for both of you, been there when you have both needed me, well, now I need you. I don't want to ask more than one time when you are going to so something. You need to tell me, the time you are going to do it and I will leave you a lone.
If you don't do it when you say you will, I will start to scream!
I won't get up and do it, but I will make your life a living night mare. I don't want that kind of relationship with you, and I know you don't either, so lets just talk about some of the issues. We talked about my son not doing things when first asked and just doing them when he felt like it, or if he felt like it. We talked about my daughter and her idea of clean. We also talked about the need to clean immediately and not one, two, or three days later.
We talked about my need for help with Ole.
So I think we got it all covered. I had a church friend come over today, she cleaned my kitchen and my floors really well. They will only stay that way for a few hours, but she got a weeks worth of crap off of them. So she will be back next week to do it again. I am hoping others will be here this week to help me too. I will have to wait and see.
But I am done.I am not doing it any more. I am working on getting my home meds right so that when I go to bed, I will be able to sleep.

I am so fortunate to have all of you looking out for me!Without you, I would have continued on my way and been a mess! THANK YOU , THANK YOU , THANK YOU! I just can't say it enough! You have all done such a great job of watching out for me. I can't believe how lucky I am to have each one of you!

I look forward to reading this forum each day to get the encouragement that it brings me!JIf you go look on my profile, I left a message there about my phone number.
I will wait and see how many of you find it. I usually don't pick up phone calls from numbers I don't recognize due to collectors, but if you text me, then I can put your name by your number and I will then pick up your call. Please remember that I am 3 hours behind Central time! If it is 12 noon in Chicago, it is 9 a.m. in Alaska! I am trying to sleep until 10 a.m.
Thanks,
Everyone!

Well done, i can breath a sigh of relief now I know you are going to get time to heal. Its a long process and family should be the most supportive people you know cos they have most to gain out of getting you back well!
Hope that you get the sleeping thing sorted soon. I don't know if you have the term "pootle" but it is the ideal thing post spine surgery -
"Pootle - Definition
proceed unhurriedly, to move at a leisurely pace"
Its an art to find little things to do that involve no bending, lifting and twisting but well worth it as staying mobile is good. I didn't stay still for more than 30 minutes apart from my afternoon nap.
Happy Healing.![]()

Susanna, it's great to see you put your foot down.Take things slow and remember nothing (chores, manual tasks, etc.) is worth another spine surgery.

Thank you Dr.Blumenthal and Dr.Lieberman you are the BEST.
Well I may have to see if I can borrow some Firearms from someone! My daughter is the worst! I asked her twice last night to put the dishes in the dishwasher and the second time, I even called her down from her bedroom and she said I woke her up (she has a cold and has been going to bed early), after she went up to her room, I didn't bother looking in the kitchen because I was convinced that she had done what I had asked. But a while later, I heard Ole in the kitchen again, licking dishes in the sink. I got up and sure enough, there were still dishes there! WHAT THE HECK????
We have also been blessed with people bringing us food and my kids are refusing to eat it because the "DONT LIKE CASSEROLES" Well my husband and I discussed it and if they don't want to eat what is provided, then they will have to find a way to pay for their own food. Bjorn has a job, but his money is suppose to go towards school, but he will probably pay for his own food. Birgitta, she doesn't have any money. So she will be the one to wrestle with, of course! Should be ugle! We just don't have the extra money to throw it away! It really makes me upset!
I am ready to boot both out of the house right now, though Bjorn has been more helpful than Birgitta lately. Funny how they flip flop on you. First one will do a good job and the other is being a lazy slob and then the other starts slacking off. I am hoping it's because Birgitta has a bad cold. But she just has no idea what it means to be clean and to do things when she's told. Perhaps we have been to easy on her being that she is the youngest. I always thought we were too hard on our kids. IDK. I'm ready to be an empty nester, even if that means laying on the couch by myself. At least the house would stay cleaner longer!
I am finding that when I get up, if I walk around without my walker, I end up in more pain at the end of the day. I am thinking that that is what happened last night. Sometimes it's just easier to not grab the walker to go those few steps but evidently I do need it. I know I can't just stand for any length of time. The walker is just so bulking and inconvenient. I am so ready to start walking and being normal again!!!!
Susanna
Susanna I know this happens with my children they hear me 24/7 and I they just tune me out (my Hubby is gone for weeks because of work out of state). So I have there Dad call each one of them and give them the riot act.And worse case senario threaten them with the move out. That usually really hits home and get's them on the right course. I feel so bad for you the last thing you need right now is stress you need just rest !!just one more thought possibly your Pastor of your Church could have a Heart to Heart talk with both of them.
Take care I really hope things settle down soon.
