Well I'm three days post op and all pain in leg, foot and back is gone. Just a little tightness at the surgery site. Surgery went a little longer than anticipated, Dr. Gibbons was able to release the nerve which was crushed. Drop foot gait is primarily gone, just need to strengthen the leg and getting used to not walking with a limp and pain. I was so happy when I opened m eyes and as we all do check for pain and move all extremities, I did and I did not have any.

I was released from the hospital at 7:30 pm same day, got home by 8:30 and I was tired and hungry. Got up the next morning still no pain but I'm taking my pain meds. One thing I have been able to do is wheen my self off. Gone from 4 hours between meds to around 7 which I happy for.

Started my walking on Wednesday, but that was in the house making laps, took my first walk yesterday outside approx. 600 yards boy was I tired when I got back, today its raining so its laps in the house.

Well thats where I at, will post again at 1 week.

I'd figure I would post a follow up, today is 5 days post op, the only problem I have had so far was the dreaded constipation, I would recommend everyone have a bottle of Milk of Magnesia in the house just in case. I was taken stools softeners twice a day that really was not working and I had a lot of stomach pain yesterday until my wife went and got the Milk of Magnesia everything has cleared up.

As far as my back and my foot pain everything is going great so far, walking outside has been minimal do to weather, heavy rain the last three days, but I wearing a path in my hardwood floors walking and doing laps in the house, boy am I happy. Left foot still has a little swelling and stiffness but I feel that will go away once the nerves regenerate, but ne drop foot and the excruciating pain I had along my ankle and the top of my foot has all gone away.

I will post again at 7 days after I get the stitches taken out.

Well its been over 2 weeks since surgery, looks like everything is going well. Stitches are out, no pain to-date. Still have tightness in back. Left foot is still swollen, I'm told not to get to worried about this, but we will see. I was released to go back to work 4 hours per day, and still no driving, which is not a problem since I work out of my house. I will post again if there are any changes and after I see my surgeon on 8-23-2010.

thanks for all of the support.

    Frank
