    Default Surgery done; Officially home

I decided to open a new thread so potential new patients have a place to go and read about post recovery and surgery outcome.

Wow! What a difference a day makes! This is by far the greatest feeling I can possibly have; no low back pain after years of nonstop pain and discomfort. I was up and walking just a couple of hours after surgery and for the first time in months did not have any burning or tingling when I took those steps! Woo-Hoo!

Have abdominal pain, which is totally expected. No distraction pain at all. I have been informed that the placement of the disc was nearly as perfect as you could get. Also that my disc space was more collapsed then what X-rays and MRIs were capable of showing.

I feel like the old me from years ago. I've slept more in the last 24 hours then I've slept in weeks. Hardest part so far is finding a comfortable spot to relax at home. The stomach pain is causing more discomfort then anything else.

One quick message to pre-surgery patients: hang in there! There is light at the end of the tunnel (and its not the train). Have a positive attitude and it will help with recovery.

Will continue to give feedback. For now, I am going to catch some more Zzzzzs.

I did, I was an emotional wreck for about a week. I was crying for no reason and was easily frustrated (not much different than how I've been in the last week ) I think it's pretty normal.
