Welcome to the forum! Spine surgery is definitely a slow process of healing, it took me all of a year to really get better. Slow and steady wins the race. Best Wishes, Kathy

Welcome Mima..... As someone else mentioned, nerve pain can be ever so painful after surgery, and can sneek up on you too. Are you on any Lyrica or Neurontin for nerve pain? If not, it might be something to ask your surgeon about at your next appointment. Just a thought. Again, welcome, and feel free to get acquainted with the different threads on an array of subjects, as well as timely medical articles to peruse. Cindylou

    Welcome Mima,

I'm sorry you are still hurting, but it is not unusual. Do you feel comfortable with naming the doctor? I had a consult with Dr. Fabien Bitan a year and a half ago, and really had a lot of faith in him. Circumstances took me elsewhere for my surgery though.

I hope you can find some information here that will help.
Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!
